A majority of users never get that far, and many don’t want to. For example, most quick actions in the MIDI editor, like changing the MIDI channel of a selected not or value with 1 click, can't be done - not without heavily customizing your toolbar to access all those MIDI actions that hides down the actions list. And those tends to follow stick with you a long time.īut some of it is fully justified in my opinion, and a bit of that feels to me like Reaper’s growing very slowly. If you don’t come out swinging with a fully functional thing right away, you get a bad reputation. Some of that criticism stems from earlier versions of Reaper. Just to be clear, I'm not talking about remapping note numbers (which can be done with js midi_keymap). I want to be able to drag note rows 60-65 down, just above notes 12-26, so that all hi-hat articulations are together.

For example, when using ezdrummer, notes 12-26 are hi-hat articulations, with other hi-hat articulations at notes 60-65. I can't rearrange note rows for drum editing.

On the same topic but no so much classified as being 'bad' as it is an annoyance: Maybe there is a way to change zoom level behavior, but I haven't found it. I know this sounds minor, but when editing across a track full of items, having to constantly change zoom levels is annoying.Īnd after I change the zoom level for a bunch of MIDI item, after closing the MIDI editor and reopening it, the last used zoom level isn't recalled. For example, if I have two MIDI items - one which is 1 bar long, the other 4 bars long - when I move between those MIDI items, the zoom level changes according to the length of the MIDI item, rather than staying at the last used zoom level.
